The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) is a legally recognized body in Nigeria that manages the nation’s identity management programs. It was created, operated, and managed by the NIMC act No. 23 of 2007 to introduce general multipurpose cards, register citizens and legal residents, integrate the current identity database with government institutions, and develop Nigeria’s national identity card database.

1. Download the NIMC MWS MOBILE APP. You can download the app from Google play store (for android devices), or apple store (for IOS devices), you can also click on this link; https://nimcmobile.app and you will be taken directly to the download page.
2. After downloading the app, you will have to install it on your mobile phone.
3. Open the app and on the app‟s home page, click on the “I need a pin” button
4. A user ID and OTP will be displayed on the “get OTP” section. Take note of
this as you will need it in the next step
5. Next, go to the NIMC online portal and input the user ID and OTP
6. Your details, as shown on your NIN slip will be displayed. You can decide to reprint out your NIN slip from the portal.
7. Alternatively, after installing the app, you will see a “show my ID” button on the app, click on it and your virtual ID card will be displayed. You can click on the virtual card to flip it over and display the back. You will also see the option of “basic info” or “full info”; this will help control how much information is displayed. When you are done with the app, click on the ‘Lock’ button at the bottom right of the screen to lock the app. This is to prevent anyone from gaining access to your information on the app.
